Data interoperability made possible by the development of the semantic web appears to be driving a convergence in descriptive practices at libraries, archives, and museums (\\{LAM\\}). According to the authors, the promotion strategy for the Charles Cros collection at the French National Library is a highly instructive example of this movement and its limitations, as well as a perfect illustration of the necessary changes in professional practices within the \\{LAM\\} community.

La interoperabilidad de los datos asequible gracias al desarrollo de la web sem\'antica, parece producir un movimiento de convergencia de las pr\'acticas de descripci\'on de las bibliotecas, centros de archivos y museos (\\{LAM\\}). Seg\'un los autores, la estrategia de valoraci\'on de la colecci\'on Charles Cros en la Biblioteca Nacional de Francia es un ejemplo particularmente significativo de este movimiento y sus l\'imites, al mismo tiempo que demuestra perfectamente la evoluci\'on necesaria de las pr\'acticas profesionales dentro del \\{LAM\\}.},

  abstract = {The French National Library is hosting a research programme focusing on preserving audiovisual and multimedia documents. The results should help to define the preservation policy and the priorities of digitization of the Audiovisual Department. Since 2007, this programme has been focusing on the chemical composition and degradation of 78-rpm records. These discs, considered to be “stable”, are in fact little understood and there are no guarantees as to their long-term preservation. The research was initially restricted to the homogeneous 78-rpm discs, manufactured during the period 1900-1924. The work consisted of a review of the literature, to find “recipes” or registers of raw materials used for the manufacturing of 78 rpm discs. Physicochemical analyses of original discs were performed to confirm the data found in literature. Since 2010, the research programme has been extended to the heterogeneous 78-rpm discs, manufactured after 1924. In the frame of the programme, a statistical survey of our whole collection (more than 250,000 items) was undertaken in order to assess its degradation state: determination of degradation patterns and evaluation of their frequency. The final step is to understand the degradation process, compiling metadata, analysing the composition of the discs and trying to determine correlations between both. My presentation will focus on the statistical survey.},

Pour sanctionner l’entr\'ee de l’informatique et du jeu vid\'eo dans le champ culturel et pour t\'emoigner avec plus de force de la diversit\'e des collections qu’il poss\`ede, le d\'epartement a entrepris d’y valoriser ses collections d’appareils informatiques et vid\'eoludiques jusqu’ici tenues \`a l’\'ecart du parcours de visite.
La r\'eflexion a d\^u se jouer de multiples contraintes li\'ees \`a la configuration des lieux, \`a la diversit\'e des technologies et des mod\`eles et \`a la nature m\^eme de cette collection d’appareils, voulue comme un reflet des collections documentaires du d\'epartement mais expos\'ee comme un mus\'ee historique de l’enregistrement sonore.

The French National Library’s Audiovisual Department hosts a collection of sound, video and multimedia playback and recording devices in a stack accessible on demand. As a way to take into account the rise of computing and video games in the cultural field and to show the varsity of its collections, the department has decided to present a short display of computers and game consoles, a part of the collection that was not exhibited yet.
The project had to deal with many limits due to the small size of the stack, the varsity of the technologies and the nature of the collection, considered as a reflection of the documentary collection but exhibited as a museum of sound history.},
