New French law on out-of-commerce works

The article reports on the enactment of Act Nr. 2012-287 which regulates the use of out-of-commerce books in France. It is inferred that out-of-commerce books are considered as a major obstacle to the digitisation of books. The French National Library will be managing the registration of unavailable books.
